Ingredients

Salad Ingredients
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped Fresh and firm for best texture.
  • 1 piece apple, diced (any variety you prefer) Add just before serving to prevent browning.
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts Pecans can be substituted.
  • 1/4 cup raisins
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Yogurt can be used for a lighter option.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the broccoli florets and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Dice the apple, ensuring you remove the core. Dice the red onion.
Mix Ingredients
  1. In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, diced apple, red onion, walnuts, and raisins. Toss gently to mix them without bruising the apples.
Prepare Dressing
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Combine Salad
  1. Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss everything together until well combined.
Chill and Serve
  1. Let the salad sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld beautifully together.

Notes

You can swap walnuts for sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds for a nut-free option. Prep all ingredients in advance but store them separately until ready to assemble. This salad can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
