Fruit Filling
  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 250 g blackberries
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
Crumble Topping
  • 150 g plain flour
  • 100 g unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 75 g rolled oats

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples and blackberries. Add in the sugar and cinnamon, mixing everything until the fruit is evenly coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix the plain flour, rolled oats, and cubed butter. Rub the butter into the flour and oats until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Transfer the fruit mixture into a baking dish and spread the crumble topping over the fruit.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  3. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For substitutions, seasonal berries, or a mix can replace blackberries. Keep an eye on the crumble topping while baking.
