For topping

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 2-quart baking dish lightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the milk while continuously whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared baking dish, being careful to avoid splashing.
  6. Lightly sprinkle your desired spice on top of the custard mixture.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes, or until the custard is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool. Serve warm or chilled, according to your preference.

Notes

For perfect custard, avoid overmixing the egg and milk mixture, and check for doneness by inserting a knife. Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
