Ingredients

For the Pizza Pockets
  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (ensure they’re Halal-friendly)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method

Preparation
  1. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Cut the dough into squares, preferably about 4 to 5 inches across.
  3. On one half of each square, place a spoonful of pizza sauce, a few slices of pepperoni, and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese. Be careful not to overfill.
  4. Fold the other half of the dough over the fillings to create a triangle shape. Press the edges together firmly to seal.
  5. Brush the tops of the pockets with olive oil and sprinkle them with Italian seasoning.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange the pizza pockets in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them.
  3. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
Serving
  1. Remove from the air fryer, allow to cool slightly, then serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For variations, substitute pepperoni with grilled chicken or veggies. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
