Ingredients

Dough and Fillings
  • 1 package pizza dough (about 13.8 ounces)
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices (make sure they’re halal-certified)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce Use a tablespoon per pocket to avoid spills.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing the tops before air frying.

Method

Preparation
  1. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into rectangles, about 6 inches by 4 inches.
Assembly
  1. Place a tablespoon of pizza sauce on one half of the rectangle and spread it evenly, leaving about a half-inch border.
  2. Layer several pepperoni slices and a generous handful of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  4. Fold the dough over to create a pocket, press the edges together to seal, and crimp the edges with a fork for added security.
Cooking
  1. Lightly brush the tops of the Pizza Pockets with olive oil.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (190°C).
  3. Place the pizza pockets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t overlapping.
  4. Cook for 10-12 minutes or until they’re golden and crisp.
Serving
  1. Remove from the air fryer, let them cool for a few minutes, and serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. To reheat, air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes.
