Preparation
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, brown sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring gently.
- Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the flour and baking powder until a dough begins to form.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly. Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
Cooking
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Pipe 4-inch long churros into the basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other.
- Air fry the churros for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the churros from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then coat the churros in the mixture while they are still warm.
- Enjoy your Air Fryer Light Churros warm, alone or with your favorite dipping sauces!
Notes
Store churros in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate them for up to a week. To reheat, use the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
