Ingredients

Churro Dough
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil or vegan butter for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 pieces eggs Add one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar For coating the churros.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently until the butter is melted.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball.
  4. Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Prepare a piping bag or a plastic zip bag with the corner snipped off. Fill it with the churro dough and pipe long strips of dough onto parchment paper or an air fryer-safe tray.
Cooking
  1. Place the churros in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  2. Once cooked, remove the churros from the air fryer and roll them in cinnamon sugar while they’re still warm.
Serving
  1. Your Air Fryer Light Churros are ready to be served! Enjoy them plain or with dipping sauces of your choice!
