Preparation
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in all-purpose flour until a dough forms.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly for about 5 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until smooth.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle and pipe 4-5 inch long strips onto a parchment-lined tray.
Cooking
- Lightly spray churros with cooking oil and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one.
- Air fry for approximately 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove churros from air fryer and coat them in cinnamon sugar while they are still warm.
Serving
- Serve your Air Fryer Light Churros warm and enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
Store leftover churros in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer for a couple of minutes to restore texture.
