For Coating
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (panko) For extra crunch.
For Frying
  • 1 jar Sliced pickles (dill pickles work best)
  • 1 spray Cooking spray for air frying

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the sliced pickles on paper towels and pat them dry to remove excess moisture.
  3. Set up a dredging station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and mix cornmeal, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Frying
  1. Dredge each pickle slice in flour, then dip it in the eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  2. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  3. Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying with more cooking spray if needed.
  4. Once crispy and golden, remove them from the air fryer and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra spice, add cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
