- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients: buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a velvety, homogenous batter.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (about 175°C) to ensure it’s heated properly.
- Pipe or scoop the batter into lightly greased donut molds, filling each about halfway.
- Place the molds in the air fryer basket and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before dusting them with powdered sugar or your favorite toppings.
Notes
Store the donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days, refrigerate for about a week, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer for about 2 minutes to regain crispiness.
