Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Opt for ripe, but not overly ripe bananas for best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Can use coconut or olive oil as substitutes.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 spray cooking spray To prevent sticking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Peel the bananas and slice them diagonally into thick pieces.
Coating Bananas
  1. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Coat each banana slice in the mixture, ensuring they are well covered.
Greasing and Arranging
  1. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring that they do not overlap.
Adding Butter
  1. Dot the bananas with small pieces of butter for richness (or use your chosen oil).
Cooking
  1. Cook the bananas for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Finishing
  1. Once they are golden brown and caramelized, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them back in the air fryer or microwave for 30 seconds. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
