Ingredients

For the spice mixture
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust based on spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the salmon
  • 2 fillets salmon (skin-on preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For brushing the salmon

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully blended.
  2. Brush both sides of the salmon fillets with olive oil. Generously coat the fillets with the spice mixture, ensuring even coverage for that rich, blackened flavor.
Cooking
  1. Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down. Cook for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Serving
  1. Once done, carefully remove the fillets from the air fryer. Serve with a lemon wedge or over a bed of greens.

Notes

For milder flavors, reduce cayenne pepper or eliminate it. Squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice before serving to enhance flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave.
