  • 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium-sized apples) Use sweet varieties like Fuji or Honeycrisp.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Use Halal-friendly milk.
  • 1 large egg Can use a flax egg for eggless version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray For spraying the fritters.
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and dice the apples into small chunks.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in diced apples.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Cooking
  1. Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of batter into the air fryer basket, leaving space between fritters.
  2. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, checking halfway and flipping if needed until golden-brown.
Serving
  1. Remove from air fryer and let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes.
