A Sweet Slice of Heaven

Imagine a cake that is not just any cake, but a slice of bliss — that’s what the Salted Caramel Kentucky Butter Cake offers! This decadent dessert is a glorious blend of rich butter and sweet caramel, topped off with a delightful salted finish that creates a symphony of flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce

Method

  1. Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Don't forget to grease your bundt pan with butter or cooking spray to ensure easy removal later!
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, and flour. This ensures that your cake rises perfectly.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until it’s light and fluffy. This step is crucial for achieving that desirable texture.
  4. Add eggs: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Incorporate buttermilk and vanilla: Next, mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until blended.
  6. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until it just comes together. Be careful not to overmix – gently is key!
  7. Layer in bundt pan: Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Drizzle about half of the salted caramel sauce over the batter, then add the remaining batter on top.
  8. Bake the cake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool and drizzle: Allow the cake to cool for a bit before inverting it onto a plate. Once cool, drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the top.
