A Sweet Slice of Heaven

Imagine a cake that is not just any cake, but a slice of bliss — that’s what the Salted Caramel Kentucky Butter Cake offers! This decadent dessert is a glorious blend of rich butter and sweet caramel, topped off with a delightful salted finish that creates a symphony of flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Don't forget to grease your bundt pan with butter or cooking spray to ensure easy removal later!
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, and flour. This ensures that your cake rises perfectly.
  • Cream butter and sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until it’s light and fluffy. This step is crucial for achieving that desirable texture.
  • Add eggs: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Incorporate buttermilk and vanilla: Next, mix in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until blended.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture and salt to the wet ingredients, mixing until it just comes together. Be careful not to overmix – gently is key!
  • Layer in bundt pan: Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Drizzle about half of the salted caramel sauce over the batter, then add the remaining batter on top.
  • Bake the cake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and drizzle: Allow the cake to cool for a bit before inverting it onto a plate. Once cool, drizzle the remaining salted caramel sauce over the top.
