A Slice of Pure Joy

Picture this: a cake that’s airy, buttery, and melts in your mouth like a dream. Welcome to the world of the Million Dollar Pound Cake! Known for its delightfully fluffy texture and deliciously sweet finish, this cake is nothing short of a culinary treasure!

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups soft butter
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract optional
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream for glaze
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 300°F (150°C) and grease a Bundt pan to ensure your cake comes out perfectly.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the soft butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and creamy. This step is crucial for achieving that fluffy texture!
  • Add Eggs: Incorporate the eggs into the butter-sugar mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift the all-purpose flour, and gradually add it to the batter, alternating it with the milk. Start and end with flour to keep the mixture well combined.
  • Flavor it Up: Blend in the vanilla extract and, if you’re feeling adventurous, the almond extract for that extra flavor kick!
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Make the Glaze: In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla extract until you achieve a luscious, drizzle-ready consistency.
  • Decorate and Serve: Once the cake is fully cooled, pour the glaze over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides like a delicious masterpiece.
