- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pan or prepare cupcake liners. 
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, then mix in the melted butter until combined. 
- Stir in the sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Blend all together until smooth. 
- In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, and salt. 
- Slowly combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture. Be sure not to overmix; it’s okay if a few lumps remain! 
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for added flavor. 
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan or fill the cupcake liners, about 2/3 full. 
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes for cupcakes, or 50-60 minutes for a loaf, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 
- Let it cool for a few minutes, then enjoy fresh out of the oven or store for later!
