Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix prepared according to package instructions
  • 1 package cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chocolate Cake: Bake the cake according to the package instructions. Once done, allow it to cool completely before cutting it into bite-sized cubes.
  • Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth. Then, gently fold in the Baileys Irish Cream followed by the whipped cream until fully combined.
  • Assemble the Trifle: In a trifle dish or a large glass bowl, start layering. Begin with a layer of chocolate cake cubes at the bottom. Add a layer of the cream cheese mixture, followed by a layer of chocolate pudding. Repeat this layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with the cream cheese mixture on top.
  • Garnish and Chill: Finish off the trifle with chocolate shavings as a garnish. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until ready to serve. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
