- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Slowly add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture and gently fold until combined, ensuring you don't overmix.
- Scoop small portions of dough and shape them into balls or flatten slightly for a classic shortbread look.
- Place the shaped cookies on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space between each one. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
