Method
Preparation
- If you're making your doughnut batter from scratch, combine your dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder) and wet ingredients (milk, eggs, vanilla) in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot enough for baking.
- Use a non-stick spray or oil to grease the doughnut pan to prevent your doughnuts from sticking.
Baking
- In a bowl, add your chocolate cereal and crush it slightly to create an even coating texture.
- Pour your doughnut batter into the pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the doughnuts are baking, melt your chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave in short intervals (15-30 seconds) until smooth.
Coating
- Once the doughnuts cool slightly, dip each doughnut into the melted chocolate and then roll in the crushed chocolate cereal.
- Let the doughnuts sit for a few minutes to let the chocolate set, and then they’re ready to serve!
Notes
For customization, feel free to add toppings like sprinkles, nuts, or a sprinkle of sea salt for an extra flavor punch. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for about a week.
