  • 1 cup plain yogurt Use halal-friendly yogurt.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add yogurt, sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  3. Sift in flour, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix gently to combine; a few lumps are okay.
  4. Grease your cake pan and pour the batter in, spreading evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes

For added texture, consider adding chopped nuts. You can also experiment with citrus zest or use dairy-free yogurt for a different flavor profile. Allow the cake to cool completely before adding any frosting or toppings.
