This Cherry Cheesecake Soap is a beautifully layered, handmade soap that smells just like a sweet, creamy cheesecake topped with juicy cherries. Designed to look like a slice of cheesecake, this soap is moisturizing, skin-nourishing, and a fun project for beginners and experienced soap makers alike.

Using melt-and-pour soap bases, essential oils, and natural colorants, you can create a luxurious, dessert-inspired soap that makes a wonderful gift or a beautiful addition to your bathroom.

Soap-Making Supplies Needed

  • Microwave-safe measuring cups
  • Silicone soap mold (rectangular or round)
  • Stirring sticks or spatulas
  • Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol
  • Knife or soap cutter

Ingredients Overview

  • Goat’s Milk Soap Base: Creates a creamy, moisturizing layer.
  • Clear Glycerin Soap Base: Provides a transparent “cherry topping” effect.
  • Shea Butter Soap Base: Adds extra hydration to the “crust.”
  • Fragrance Oils: A blend of vanilla, cherry, and cheesecake scents for a realistic aroma.
  • Natural Colorants or Mica Powders: Creates layers that resemble crust, filling, and topping.

Ingredients (Makes 6 Bars)

For the Crust Layer

  • 4 oz shea butter soap base
  • ½ teaspoon brown mica powder (or cocoa powder for a natural option)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla fragrance oil

For the Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz goat’s milk soap base
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla fragrance oil
  • ½ teaspoon cheesecake fragrance oil
  • ½ teaspoon titanium dioxide (for a creamy, opaque look)

For the Cherry Topping

  • 6 oz clear glycerin soap base
  • ½ teaspoon red mica powder
  • ½ teaspoon cherry fragrance oil
  • ½ teaspoon glycerin (optional, for extra moisture)

Directions

Step 1: Make the Crust Layer

Melt shea butter soap base in the microwave in 30-second intervals until fully melted. Stir in brown mica powder and vanilla fragrance oil. Pour into the bottom of the soap mold to create a thin crust layer. Spray with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles and let set for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2: Create the Cheesecake Layer

Melt goat’s milk soap base and mix in vanilla and cheesecake fragrance oils. Stir in titanium dioxide for a creamy white color. Carefully pour over the set crust layer, spraying rubbing alcohol to prevent bubbles. Let it set for 20-30 minutes.

Step 3: Make the Cherry Topping

Melt clear glycerin soap base and mix in red mica powder and cherry fragrance oil. Stir well and let cool slightly before pouring over the cheesecake layer. Spray with rubbing alcohol and let the soap fully harden for 2-3 hours.

Step 4: Unmold & Slice

Once completely set, carefully remove from the mold. Slice into soap bars or pie slices and enjoy!

Total Time

2-3 hours (including cooling time)

Expert Tips

  • For a More Realistic Look: Add melted soap “cherry drizzle” on top using a pipette.
  • For Extra Moisture: Add 1 teaspoon of shea butter to the cheesecake layer.
  • To Prevent Layers from Separating: Lightly scratch the surface of each hardened layer before pouring the next one.

FAQs

Can I use essential oils instead of fragrance oils?
Yes! Try vanilla, almond, or cherry essential oils for a natural scent.

How long does homemade soap last?
Properly stored, it lasts 6-12 months before scents start to fade.

Can I make this soap without mica powders?
Yes! Use natural colorants like cocoa powder, beetroot powder, or turmeric.

Storing & Packaging

  • Storing: Wrap in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container.
  • Gifting: Wrap in parchment paper and tie with a ribbon for a cute, handmade touch.

Substitutions & Variations

  • Dairy-Free Version: Use coconut milk soap base instead of goat’s milk.
  • Extra Exfoliating: Add finely ground oats or sugar to the crust layer.
  • More Realistic Cheesecake Look: Pipe white soap “whipped cream” swirls on top before the cherry layer sets.
