Ingredients

For the Subs
  • 2 large French or garlic bread loaves
  • 2 pieces grilled chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup croutons
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. If using French bread, cut the loaves in half horizontally. Optionally, spread butter and minced garlic on the cut side or use pre-made garlic bread.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then grill over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through. Slice thinly when done.
Assembly
  1. In a large bowl, toss the chopped romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing to ensure it is evenly coated. Add croutons and half of the grated Parmesan cheese; mix gently.
  2. On the garlic side of the bread, layer the grilled chicken slices, followed by the Caesar salad mixture. Top with remaining Parmesan cheese.
Serving
  1. Halve the subs for easy handling and serve immediately while the garlic bread is still warm. Enjoy every scrumptious bite!

Notes

For a different flavor profile, experiment with Halal-friendly proteins, swapping grilled chicken for grilled beef or turkey. Watch your timing to avoid over-toasting the garlic bread. Don't over-dress your salad to keep the sub from becoming soggy.
