  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) Ensure it is thawed to maintain flakiness.
  • 8 oz Brie cheese (cut into slices) Use creamy Brie for best results.
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade) Choose your preferred type.
  • 4 slices beef bacon (cooked and crumbled) Alternatively, use halal turkey bacon.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (chopped) Fresh herbs enhance the flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season according to preference.
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten egg for glazing the pastry.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface into a rectangle of about 12x9 inches. Transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Score a 1-inch border around the edges of the pastry using a knife. Be careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly inside the scored border.
  5. Arrange the Brie slices evenly over the cranberry sauce.
  6. Sprinkle crumbled beef bacon and chopped thyme over the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Beat the egg and brush it over the borders of the puff pastry.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let the tart cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes. Freeze unbaked tart for up to a month.
