Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large wheel Brie cheese Choose a high-quality Brie for best results.
  • 2 apples, sliced Use sweet varieties like Honeycrisp or Fuji.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Optional: Add more for a spicier flavor.
  • 1/4 cup pecans, chopped Can substitute with almonds.
  • 1/4 cup honey Adjust sweetness as preferred.
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen.
  • 1 egg, beaten For egg wash, gives a golden finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out your puff pastry sheet on a clean surface until slightly larger and place it on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  3. In the center of the pastry, place the wheel of Brie. Top with slices of apples, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, and add chopped pecans.
  4. Drizzle honey generously over the apple and Brie mixture.
  5. Gently fold the edges of the pastry over the Brie, sealing it to prevent any cheese from spilling out.
  6. Brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing to help the cheese hold its shape.
  9. Serve warm with additional apple slices, bread, or crackers.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, wrap the assembled dish tightly in plastic wrap and foil before baking, baking directly from frozen.
